Saint Quirin is één van de weinige Beaux Villages in Lotharingen. Ik ken de streek ook niet heel goed, maar ik kan mij toch voorstellen dat er wel meer te vinden zijn. Het meest opvallende gebouw in het dorp is zonder twijfel de barokkerk waar de klokkentorens zijn versierd met uivormige punten. Dat doet meer aan Oostenrijk dan aan Frankrijk denken.

De dubbele torens zie je echter wel meer in de omgeving van de Maas en Moezel. De abdijkerk in Saint Hubert in België heeft ook zulke torens. Binnen in de kerk vind je een uitstekend gerenoveerd orgel dat aan het einde van de achttiende eeuw is gebouwd. In de zomer worden er regelmatig concerten gegeven. Het interieur van de kerk omvat verschillende fraaie voorbeelden van meubelen in zowel Lodewijk XIV als Lodewijk XV stijl.

Een ander opvallend gebouw van Saint Quirin is de kapel die op de heuvel boven het dorp staat. Op deze plek stond in de oudheid al een Keltisch heiligdom en gezien het uitzicht is het ook niet vreemd dat ze hiervoor deze plek hebben gekozen. De kapel is met de auto te bereiken en is het startpunt van verschillende wandelroutes.
Tot slot is er nog een bron in het dorp. Deze is nu versiert met een beeld van de Heilige Quirinus. Nu zijn er maar liefst vier heilige met deze naam en het is mij niet echt duidelijk om welke het hier gaat, al is het logisch als het om Quirinus van Malmedy zou gaan. Het water zou wonderbaarlijke krachten bezitten en in staat zijn om verschillende ziektes te genezen.
