La Roque-sur-Cèze is gebouwd op een grote rots aan de rivier Cèze vlakbij de indrukwekkende watervallen van Sautadet. De waterval is de attractie van het dorp en biedt op warme zomerdagen de nodige verkoeling voor de oververhitte toerist. Naast deze natuurlijke attractie heeft La Roque sur Cèze natuurlijk een kerk en een kasteel.

De plek op de rots boven de rivier is niet gekozen voor het schilderachtige plaatje maar puur omdat het goed te verdedigen is. In de twaalfde eeuw werd er een kasteel gebouwd waar omheen het dorp ontstond. De kerk, of beter de kapel van het kasteel, is redelijk goed bewaard gebleven.

Naast het kasteel heeft La Roque-sur-Cèze nog een bijzondere brug. Deze is genoemd naar Karel Martel maar stamt niet uit de tijd van deze Karolinger. De brug is gebouwd in de veertiende eeuw. Tot slot ligt er bij het dorp nog een prachtige waterval, de Cascades du Sautadet.
