Treignac-sur-Vézère ligt zoals de naam aangeeft aan de rivier Vézère aan de voet van het kleine gebergte Les Monédières. Het landschap is gemoedelijk met bossen en kleine riviertjes en nodigt uit om heerlijk buiten te zijn. Het dorp heeft een prachtige bovenstad, een oude brug en interessant kerkje.

De kerk is gebouwd in dertiende eeuw en is honderd jaar later nog eens flink verbouwd. Opvallend is het gebedshuis een vierkant grondplan heeft en ook de klokkentoren in spiraalvorm trekt de aandacht. Binnen heeft het altaar de vorm van een dolemen, of wel een hunebed. Al met al een interessant gebouw om even goed te bekijken.

Vanaf de kerk is het een klein stukje lopen naar de bovenste deel van het dorp. Hier staan mooie huizen uit de zestiende en zeventiende eeuw die fraai zijn versierd. Helemaal beneden in het dorp is een brug uit de veertiende eeuw waar de rivier woest onderdoor stroomt. Je kan hier op kanoën maar dat is wel voor de gevorderde sporter aangezien de Franse kampioenschappen kajakken hier wel eens zijn gehouden.
