Saint-Côme-d’Olt ligt op de oevers van de rivier de Lot en langs de pelgrimsroute naar Santiago de Compostella. Het meest in het opvallende aan het dorp is de torenspits van de kerk die vreemd gedraaid is. Je denkt even dat er iets niet goed is gegaan tijdens de bouw maar het is gewoon zo bedoeld. Dit soort rariteiten zie je maar weinig in Frankrijk.

De kerk is gebouwd in de zestiende eeuw en heeft een flamboyante gotische stijl. Een druk gebouw dus waar genoeg details zijn om je ogen een tijdje bezig te houden. De houten deuren van de kerk verdienen dankzij kundig houtsnijwerk ook even aandacht.

Naast de kerk heeft het dorp nog veel van de middeleeuwse bebouwing staan. Zelfs de muur die Saint-Côme-d’Olt eeuwen geleden beschermde staat er voor een groot gedeelte al is die nu wel verbouwd tot de gevels van mooie herenhuizen. Het centrum is zoals je verwacht van een middeleeuws dorp met nauwe straatjes en steegjes. Tot slot is er natuurlijk een kasteel dat in de dertiende eeuw is gebouwd en nu dienst doet als gemeentehuis.
