Porquerolles is de grootste van de Îles d’Hyères, een eilandengroep heeft als bijnaam de Îles d’Or, ofwel de gouden eilanden gelegen even ten zuiden van Hyères in de Middellandse Zee. Dat is klinkt nogal pretentieus maar we hebben het hier wel over de Côte d’Azur waar alles een beetje overdreven is én laten we eerlijk zijn, ook vaak heel mooi. Porquerolles is dat zeker ook.
