De Ardèche ligt in het zuiden van Frankrijk en de is zeer geliefd als vakantiebestemming bij Nederlanders en Fransen. Het landschap is ruig en ongerept terwijl het klimaat lekker warm is. Deze gouden combinatie trok al ver voor het begin van de jaartelling mensen aan want dit is één van de oudste bewoonde gebieden van Europa.

De natuur zorgt ervoor dat hier ook veel te doen is. Je kan er uitstekend wandelen en voor de geoefende fietser is het hier ook zeer aangenaam. Daarnaast zorgt het water in de rivieren voor afkoeling en vertier.

Tot slot vind je hier fantastische mooie dorpen en stadjes. Het kan hier vooral in het hoogseizoen erg druk zijn maar wie zich buiten de begaande paden waagt vindt hier nog echte rust.

De Ardèche is bijzonder populair als vakantiebestemming en dat is ook goed te begrijpen. De streek heeft prachtige dorpen, mooie landschappen, het weer is ‘s zomers er bijna altijd goed en er is genoeg te doen. Het kan er ook best druk zijn. Wie de drukte en de warmte even wil ontvluchten is het bezoeken van een grot zeker een leuk uitje. Aven d’Orgnac is de grootste grot die je kan bezoeken in de Ardèche.

De Ardèche is een geliefde streek bij toeristen en vooral Nederlanders zijn hier in de zomer veel te vinden. Hier vind je ook alles wat we in Nederland niet hebben. Een heerlijk klimaat, een prachtig landschap met kliffen en kloven en prachtige zuidelijk dorpjes. Balazuc is daar geen uitzondering op en ligt hoog op een rots boven de rivier de Ardèche.

Vogüé is gebouwd langs de rivier de Ardèche op een plek waar de oever de vorm heeft van een natuurlijk amfitheater. Het kasteel ligt hoog tegen de rotsen gebouwd met daaronder het dorp met de kerk, helemaal beneden maakt het strand het plaatje compleet. Naast cultuur kan je hier goed zwemmen en met een kano de rivier afzakken. Dat is de mooiste manier om de Ardèche te beleven.

De Ardèche is één van de populairste streken in Frankrijk waar in de zomer veel Nederlanders neerstrijken op een camping. Naast het natuurschoon heeft het gebied langs de rivier prachtige stadjes en dorpen. Eén van de mooiste is ongetwijfeld Aiguèze dat is gebouwd bovenop een hoge klif boven de rivier De Ardèche.

Hoewel we al veel van Frankrijk hebben gezien, was het gebied rondom de Ardèche voor ons lang een zwarte vlek op de kaart. We wisten wel dat het mooi was, maar de hoeveelheid toeristen in het hoogseizoen stond ons tegen en voor een weekje in het voorjaar ligt het toch ver.

De Ardèche is een van de populaire provincies in Frankrijk, vooral onder vakantiegangers. Voornaamste redenen, zijn de afstand (1.050 kilometer van Amsterdam) en dus prima te berijden met tent of caravan en het aangename klimaat. Het zuidelijke deel rondom de gelijknamige rivier en Le Vallon Pont d’Arc is bij velen bekend en dus ook druk bezocht.
