Turenne is een bijzonder dorp in de streek Corrèze in de buurt van de Dordogne. Het dorp is gebouwd op een berg waar een machtige ruïne staat. Deze was ooit van militaire waarde maar nu is het een leuke attractie voor toeristen. Daarnaast is een aardig kerkje waar vooral het interieur interessant is.

Pujols ligt prachtig op een berg boven de Lot, met een prachtig uitzicht op de stad Villeneuve-sur-Lot dat drie kilometer verder ligt. De ingang van het dorp is een poort en verraadt de militaire functie die het mooie Franse dorp in het verleden heeft gehad. Goed voor drie sterren.

Het dorp Domme ligt mooi langs de rivier de Dordogne in het zuidwesten van Frankrijk. Het meest opvallende is de grot die letterlijk onder het dorp ligt. De ingang van de grot ligt midden op de marktplein. Maar ook de kerk, het kasteel en de prachtige omgeving met veel meer mooie dorpen in de buurt zijn een bezoek waard. De streek staat tevens bekend om de uitstekend keuken, dus ook de innerlijke mens hoeft zich hier niet te vervelen.

Wij bezochten dit mooie dorp aan de Dordogne in de nogal natte zomer van 2011. En ja, ook tijdens ons bezoek regende het behoorlijk. Vandaar ook de sombere foto’s. Toch hebben we van dit Franse dorp, dat vlakbij Sarlat ligt, genoten.
