In de Luberon zijn er genoeg ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. Niet vreemd want het is een fantastische streek met inderdaad veel schilderachtige dorpjes. Roussillon vormt hier geen uitzondering op maar heeft naast een gezellig dorpscentrum nog een unieke attractie: de grootste okermijn van Europa. En dat is voldoende voor vier sterren.

Als je de eerste keer het boekje van ‘Les Plus Beaux Villages de France’ doorbladert, dan is er één naam die direct opvalt: Saint Cirq-Lapopie. Dit dorp aan de rivier de Lot heeft een bijna belachelijke naam, maar als je er bent geweest overtreft de schoonheid ervan de lollige naam.

Moustiers Sainte-Marie ligt vlak bij het Lac de Sainte Croix in de Provence. Deze regio is zeer populair bij Nederlanders en dat is niet vreemd want het gebied heeft veel te bieden. Moustiers ligt tegen een berg vlak voor een grote kloof waar aan een ketting een ijzeren ster boven hangt. Het dorp krijgt van ons vier sterren.

Wij bezochten dit mooie dorp aan de Dordogne in de nogal natte zomer van 2011. En ja, ook tijdens ons bezoek regende het behoorlijk. Vandaar ook de sombere foto’s. Toch hebben we van dit Franse dorp, dat vlakbij Sarlat ligt, genoten.
